Carlos Quentin was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Pincha FC's defense didn't have a chance, in the 19th minute, when Cassius Byrne scored to the left of an out of position Carlos Quentin, making the score, 2-0. In the 24th minute, Agustin Silvino ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Marco Day was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Victorio Hondo in the 27th minute of play forced USA's goalkeeper Marco Day to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Carlos Quentin showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cassius Byrne, who was totally free with the ball in the 38th minute. Marco Day showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Agustin Silvino in the 40th minute of the match. Sergio Macerio was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 42nd played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. Cassius Byrne might have been able to make a better finish in the 45th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Carlos Quentin. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Cassius Byrne ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 47th minute, Agustin Silvino made a precise shot to the right of Marco Day. USA's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-3. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 2-3.

When Marcial Roldanillo came up free with the goalie in the 93rd minute, the Pincha FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Marcial Roldanillo couldn't finish the play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sam Campbell in the 95th minute of play forced Pincha FC's goalkeeper Carlos Quentin to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 5-3 became the score in the 96th minute when Sam Campbell elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. USA walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
