But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Cristian Sancho couldn't finish the play. Daniel Zorita recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 9th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Meninos De Cotia's Hugo Rodrigues played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cristian Sancho in the 10th minute of play. Ecuador were awarded a corner in the 11th minute after Meninos De Cotia's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Daniel Zorita took the corner. At last the ball reached Agustín Saelices at the corner, ending with a kick to difficult to stop for the goalkeeper of Meninos De Cotia. 1-0. The audience thought a goal was coming when Daniel Zorita got free with Hugo Rodrigues in the 22nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Daniel Zorita's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Hugo Rodrigues read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 24th minute of play. With a little luck, Meninos De Cotia's Hugo Rodrigues got control of the ball when Agustín Saelices tried to sneak it across the goal line. A well-hit corner resulted in Luis Andino heading the ball towards the goal, but to his dismay he misdirected it and missed the goal completely. Hugo Rodrigues made a fantastic save in the 32nd minute, when Cristian Sancho sent off a good shot on target. The throw-in from Camilo Gisbert in the 70th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Meninos De Cotia's Silvestre Corderro. Camilo Gisbert got a throw-in 73 minutes in the game and the ball was received by Cristian Sancho.
