The Ríver Late fans' excitement grew in the 7th match minute when Ríver Late's Claudio Echeverri looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. In the 11th minute, Ríver Late's Claudio Echeverri dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 2-0. If Claudio Echeverri had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 15th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. The audience thought a goal was coming when Claudio Echeverri got free with Jonathan Ferrant in the 15th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 17th play minute Claudio Echeverri came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Jonathan Ferrant. 3-0. The supporters of Venezuela booed when Ríver Late was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 21 match minutes in a wonderful position. Lorien Blanco didn't get a good kick on the ball. Jonathan Ferrant made an important save on a dangerous shot by Claudio Echeverri in the 31st minute. If Tomas Illescas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 35th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Claudio Echeverri received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 37th minute. Jonathan Ferrant tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 40 played minutes Venezuela got a freekick which was hit by Guillermo Mariano. In the 45th minute, Rick Haremeijer had to leave the field with a concussion. Camilo Gaos charged in rather forcefully in the 45th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Camilo Gaos the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Ríver Late made a substitution. Dimas Barrientos replaced Rick Haremeijer. Camilo Gaos hit a great freekick 46 minutes into the match. Jonathan Ferrant showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Claudio Echeverri in the 47th minute of the match.

In the 52nd minute Patricio Costa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Geovani de Salles saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Claudio Echeverri might have been able to make a better finish in the 54th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Jonathan Ferrant. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Claudio Echeverri ran back to his position shaking his head. Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Claudio Echeverri in the 54th minute of play. Dimas Barrientos blasted a shot towards the goal in the 59th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Jonathan Ferrant having to make a save. Geovani de Salles stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Tomas Illescas's shot from short distance in the 61st minute. 64 minutes into the match, Venezuela's goal looked a bit too open when Claudio Echeverri came free, but Jonathan Ferrant reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Geovani de Salles was a little too slow when Tomas Illescas got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 65th minute. The score was now 3-1. Ríver Late's Carl Skytt was substituted for Silvério Vargas. Patricio Costa hit a great freekick 70 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Baran Sarka in the 77th minute of play forced Venezuela's goalkeeper Jonathan Ferrant to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Tomas Illescas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 82nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Ríver Late's Claudio Echeverri in the 84th minute got a chance for a shot 84th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Jonathan Ferrant came out of the goal and Dimas Barrientos tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Carl Skytt scored 5-1 in the 92nd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Jonathan Ferrant, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. There was no doubt that Ríver Late were the better team. Ríver Late's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
