Tomas Illescas might have been able to make a better finish in the 16th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Sonny Ahlerot. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Tomas Illescas ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 16th minute Tomas Illescas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sonny Ahlerot saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Sonny Ahlerot showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Patricio Costa, who was totally free with the ball in the 18th minute. The crowd rose to their feet as Brunatni Bełchatów's Zachary Piechocki slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Jonathan Ferrant. That made the score 1-1 after 21 minutes of play. Jonathan Ferrant showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gwidon Tomaka, who was totally free with the ball in the 23rd minute. After 28 played minutes Venezuela got a freekick which was hit by Rigoberto Mina. Jonathan Ferrant made a fantastic save in the 34th minute, when Gwidon Tomaka sent off a good shot on target. Jonathan Ferrant made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-1. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Jonathan Ferrant took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Marian Warka, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After some careless play in the Venezuela defense, Edward Niewiadomski kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Jonathan Ferrant. The Venezuela fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Jonathan Ferrant should have stopped the shot. Brunatni Bełchatów's Konrad Patrylo was substituted for Bartlomiej Grucza. In the 67th minute Patricio Costa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sonny Ahlerot saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Jonathan Ferrant made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Marian Warka in the 69th minute of play. In the 70th match minute, Brunatni Bełchatów was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Stanislaw Smuskiewicz to maneuver through the defense. Brunatni Bełchatów's Dobromir Mentis was substituted for Korneliusz Opat. Stanislaw Smuskiewicz hit a great freekick 71 minutes into the match. In the 72nd match minute, Brunatni Bełchatów was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Edward Niewiadomski to maneuver through the defense. Marian Warka's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Jonathan Ferrant read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 82nd minute of play.
