Academia NOFX's Noël Papa pulled a muscle in his leg after 44 minutes and couldn't finish the game. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Alex Chicote during the 45th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Alex Chicote hit a great freekick 46 minutes into the match. After 47 minutes of play, Academia NOFX's Mevlüt Tacir made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Jonathan Ferrant was left in no man's land by his defense there! The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Tomas Illescas to strike the kick off in the second half. After a defensive mix-up in Academia NOFX's zone, Tomas Illescas stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Hernán Pajot came out of the goal and Tomas Illescas tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After having played for 56 minutes, Tomas Illescas managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Venezuela's supporters crossed their fingers, but Tomas Illescas was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Academia NOFX's Guillermo Haimar was substituted for Carlos-Mario Monclús. After 67 played minutes Venezuela got a freekick which was hit by Camilo Gaos. If Patricio Costa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 71st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Venezuela's Joshua Secada got a good chance for a goal in the 73rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 82nd minute Tomas Illescas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Hernán Pajot saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Venezuela's Salvador Gisbert quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Severin Nikić, made in the 83rd minute of the game. After a rather tough play, Venezuela's Patricio Costa got a free kick in the 85th minute. In the 87th minute, Alex Chicote hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mevlüt Tacir in the 88th minute of play forced Venezuela's goalkeeper Jonathan Ferrant to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Academia NOFX walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
