Pablo Aimar might have been able to make a better finish in the 10th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Pedro Manzanares. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Pablo Aimar ran back to his position shaking his head. 14 minutes in the game, Pablo Aimar fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Pedro Manzanares having to interfere. After 20 played minutes Legio X Eqvestris got a freekick which was hit by Raul Garoa. Santino Seco took the ball and in the 22 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Ariel Gustau. Ariel Gustau dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. Through an outstanding action, after 28 minutes, Pedro Manzanares successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. 31 minutes into the match, Colombia's goal looked a bit too open when Pablo Aimar came free, but Pedro Manzanares reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Axel Montenegro in the 38th minute of play forced Legio X Eqvestris's goalkeeper Ariel Gustau to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Pedro Manzanares showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Pablo Aimar in the 47th minute of the match. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.
