With a little luck, Ecuador's Julio Vera got control of the ball when Aníbal Toscano tried to sneak it across the goal line. Ecuador's Daniel Zorita got a good chance for a goal in the 8th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The crowd rose to their feet as Aníbal Toscano kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Julio Vera. That made the score 1-0 in the 9 minute of play. In the 15th minute, Daniel Zorita hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 21 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Marco Löhr. Guillen Aguillar made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Daniel Zorita in the 23rd minute of play. Guillen Aguillar took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Daniel Zorita, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 31 minutes into the match, Wolves FC - DMZ's goal looked a bit too open when Luis Andino came free, but Guillen Aguillar reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 32nd minute of the match, Ronaldo Joinvilense tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Julio Vera saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. With his leg Julio Vera managed to avoid a goal in the 33rdth minute, when Wolves FC - DMZ's Marco Löhr fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. 37 minutes into the match, Wolves FC - DMZ's goal looked a bit too open when Daniel Zorita came free, but Guillen Aguillar reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Aníbal Toscano in the 40th minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Aníbal Toscano had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 42nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Cristian Sancho kicked well hit freekick during the 43rd minute of the match. Guillen Aguillar showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cristian Sancho, who was totally free with the ball in the 47th minute.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Daniel Zorita made a kick off. A collision led to Ecuador getting a freekick after 65 minutes play. Camilo Gisbert hit a great ball. If Agustín Saelices had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 67th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Julio Vera showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ronaldo Joinvilense in the 75th minute of the match. Wolves FC - DMZ were awarded a corner in the 77th minute after Ecuador's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. José Carlos Gomes took the corner. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ronaldo Joinvilense in the 83rd minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ecuador's Cristian Sancho got a good chance for a goal in the 91st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Daniel Zorita fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 92nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Guillen Aguillar having to interfere. Jeers came from both ends of the stadium when the final whistle went. Neither team had looked impressive and the draw seeemd a fair result.
