In the 9th match minute, Bresikas was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Pedro Eudoxio to maneuver through the defense. After a rather tough play, Venezuela's Guillermo Mariano got a free kick in the 14th minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Karl-Åke Stolpe got free with Jonathan Ferrant in the 15th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Alex Chicote hit a great freekick 18 minutes into the match. Emanuel Jacob made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tomas Illescas in the 28th minute of play. Venezuela's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Tomas Illescas in the 32nd minute. The corner ended in Jose Correa almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Bresikas's Emanuel Jacob did a great save. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Patricio Costa in the 32nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Emanuel Jacob saved Bresikas from getting behind. Emanuel Jacob showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tomas Illescas, who was totally free with the ball in the 33rd minute. Karl-Åke Stolpe fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 38th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jonathan Ferrant having to interfere. The Bresikas fans' excitement grew in the 41st match minute when Bresikas's Leovigildo Abumohor looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

Jonathan Ferrant showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Karl-Åke Stolpe in the 51st minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tomas Illescas in the 56th minute of play forced Bresikas's goalkeeper Emanuel Jacob to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Tomas Illescas blasted a shot towards the goal in the 62nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Emanuel Jacob having to make a save. In the 72nd minute Patricio Costa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Emanuel Jacob saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Jonathan Venegas charged in rather forcefully in the 73rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Jonathan Venegas the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 74th match minute, Venezuela was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jonathan Venegas to maneuver through the defense. Venezuela's Tomas Illescas got a good chance for a goal in the 76th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Serafin Fernandes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 79th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Bresikas's Leovigildo Abumohor in the 81st minute got a chance for a shot 81st didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Venezuela's goalie prevented a goal. Paulino Bero hit a great freekick 84 minutes into the match. Emanuel Jacob made an important save on a dangerous shot by Tomas Illescas in the 94th minute. Jonathan Ferrant showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Leovigildo Abumohor, who was totally free with the ball in the 95th minute. Venezuela's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
