Spectators: 45 (Terracing: 35, Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) Spartak das Kaldas's Pedro Meira started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After a rather tough play, Spartak das Kaldas's Edgar Casado got a free kick in the 3rd minute. Lautaro Puig ran back to his position shaking his head. After a defensive mix-up in Spartak das Kaldas's zone, Axel Tasis stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Angélico Moura came out of the goal and Axel Tasis tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 11th minute, Axel Tasis got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Benito Sanz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Pedro Meira, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 20 played minutes Costa Rica got a freekick which was hit by Lautaro Puig. Pedro Meira scored 0-1 in the 24th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Benito Sanz, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After a rather tough play, Costa Rica's Juan Rubio got a free kick in the 29th minute. 30 minutes into the match, Costa Rica's goal looked a bit too open when Pedro Meira came free, but Benito Sanz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 31st minute, Pedro Meira managed to get in a good position for a shot. Spartak das Kaldas's supporters rose to their feet, but Pedro Meira was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Benito Sanz breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Costa Rica's supporters rose to their feet, but Eliseo Noboa was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Angélico Moura breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Benito Sanz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Guilherme Ornelas in the 43rd minute of play. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Axel Tasis to make the kick off. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Lautaro Puig during the 51st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. When the match was over Spartak das Kaldas could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Costa Rica throughout the match.
