Spectators: 47 (Terracing: 36, Seating: 11, VIP seats: 0) Paraguay's Jaime Pardo started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 5th minute, Hector Covarrubias ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. 이 음 was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. 10 minutes into the game, Gwangju1980's 박 노 nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Jacobo Nores made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. Primitivo Escribano hit a great freekick 16 minutes into the match. 이 음 came out of the goal in the 19th minute to try and stop a shot by Paraguay's Hector Covarrubias. But to his dismay, Hector Covarrubias quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-1. 박 노 hit a great freekick 24 minutes into the match. Jaime Pardo could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 26th minute of the match, but 이 음 made a huge save. 34 minutes had been played when some careless play by Gwangju1980's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Jaime Pardo was slow to take the kick. During this time Paraguay's players had a chance to rest. Jaime Pardo was in a good position and managed to take a shot, but he missed just to the outside of the post. After 36 minutes, 이 옹 mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Gwangju1980 and the Paraguay players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 36th minute, 이 옹 hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a rather tough play, Gwangju1980's Rusli Kosasih got a free kick in the 39th minute. After having played for 42 minutes, Hector Covarrubias managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Paraguay's supporters crossed their fingers, but Hector Covarrubias was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Rusli Kosasih struck a weak shot in the 46th minute. Jacobo Nores didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Gwangju1980.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Rusli Kosasih was the one to do the kick off. Heiko Hertel took the ball and in the 51 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Jacobo Nores. Jacobo Nores dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-2. When Rusli Kosasih came up free with the goalie in the 57th minute, the Gwangju1980 fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Rusli Kosasih couldn't finish the play. After having played for 59 minutes, Hector Covarrubias managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Paraguay's supporters crossed their fingers, but Hector Covarrubias was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 박 노 recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 78th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Paraguay's Hector Covarrubias managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Heiko Hertel in the 91 minute of the game. If Jaime Pardo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 92nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After a defensive mix-up in Gwangju1980's zone, Jaime Pardo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. 이 음 came out of the goal and Jaime Pardo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When the referee blew the final whistle, you could see the dissatisfaction in the Paraguay players' eyes. They were disappointed they hadn't taken more from the game.
