Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Daniel Zorita took the kick off in the first half of the match. Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Răzvan Mumuleanu in the 2nd minute of play. After 3 minutes Ecuador's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Gheorghe Herea who took care of the corner kick. The corner ended in Romeo Balint almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Ecuador's Julio Vera did a great save. Pompiliu Zmărăndescu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Daniel Zorita in the 6th minute of the match. After 10 played minutes FC Brink got a freekick which was hit by Jerry Priest. After a defensive mix-up in FC Brink's zone, Cristian Sancho stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Pompiliu Zmărăndescu came out of the goal and Cristian Sancho tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Pompiliu Zmărăndescu didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Cristian Sancho went, in the 16th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. Julio Vera made an important save on a dangerous shot by Gheorghe Herea in the 21st minute. Felix Montenegro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 26th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Julio Vera took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Iulian Udrescu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Agustín Saelices charged in rather forcefully in the 29th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Agustín Saelices the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Pompiliu Zmărăndescu was left in no man's land by his defense there! Pompiliu Zmărăndescu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Felix Montenegro in the 35th minute of play. After 36 minutes FC Brink's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Daniel Zorita who took care of the corner kick. After having played for 37 minutes, Daniel Zorita managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ecuador's supporters crossed their fingers, but Daniel Zorita was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Ecuador's Julio Vera proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 41st minute of the match, managed to save Ecuador from getting a goal against them. In the 46th minute, Cristian Sancho ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Pompiliu Zmărăndescu was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-3. After the first half Ecuador were leading 0-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.
Pompiliu Zmărăndescu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cristian Sancho in the 52nd minute of play. Luis Andino sent away a hard shot on goal in the 54th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 56th minute the ball was on its way in behind FC Brink's goalkeeper Pompiliu Zmărăndescu, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Pompiliu Zmărăndescu was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Daniel Zorita showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 0-4 in the 61 minute of play. Cristian Sancho received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 69th minute. Pompiliu Zmărăndescu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After some careless play in the FC Brink defense, Daniel Zorita kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Pompiliu Zmărăndescu. The FC Brink fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Pompiliu Zmărăndescu should have stopped the shot. The audience thought a goal was coming when Cristian Sancho got free with Pompiliu Zmărăndescu in the 78th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Cristian Sancho received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Pompiliu Zmărăndescu came out and tried to block the shot, but Cristian Sancho slotted it home off the left post making it 0-6 in the 78th minute. Ecuador's Daniel Zorita managed to work through FC Brink's defense and was going for an easy goal, but he hit the shot with his toe and the ball flew outside the goal. Daniel Zorita dejectedly held out his arms as if to ask why the ball hadn't gone in. Ecuador's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
