Spectators: 41 (Terracing: 32, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Daniel Zorita kicked off to start the match. In the 12th minute Nando Lima shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Vera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The Ecuador fans' excitement grew in the 18th match minute when Ecuador's Felix Montenegro looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Julio Vera made an important save on a dangerous shot by Aírton de Amaral in the 23rd minute. In the 30thth minute of the game Luis Andino who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Queluzito's Paulo José Rodrigues was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Daniel Zorita in the 32nd minute of play forced Queluzito's goalkeeper Paulo José Rodrigues to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The supporters of Ecuador booed when Queluzito was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 33 match minutes in a wonderful position. Felippe Fonseca didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 35 played minutes Queluzito got a freekick which was hit by Felippe Fonseca. In the 36th minute of the match Daniel Zorita sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Paulo José Rodrigues skillfully saved the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Ecuador's zone, Percy Cabral stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Julio Vera came out of the goal and Percy Cabral tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 39th match minute, Queluzito was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Percy Cabral to maneuver through the defense. Paulo José Rodrigues showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Daniel Zorita, who was totally free with the ball in the 41st minute. When Mazinho Lara fell near the penalty area in the 42nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Queluzito's protests and gave Mazinho Lara a yellow card for diving instead. Mazinho Lara hit a great freekick 43 minutes into the match. In the 44th minute, Felix Montenegro got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Nando Lima to make the kick off. If Cristian Sancho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 57th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 61st minute, Daniel Zorita made a precise shot to the right of Paulo José Rodrigues. Queluzito's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-2. Agustín Saelices fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 64th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Paulo José Rodrigues having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 66th minute, Daniel Zorita managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ecuador's supporters rose to their feet, but Daniel Zorita was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Paulo José Rodrigues breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 68th minute, Cristian Sancho left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Ecuador fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-3. When Queluzito's Nando Lima in the 82nd minute got a chance for a shot 82nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Ecuador's goalie prevented a goal. Paulo José Rodrigues showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cristian Sancho in the 89th minute of the match. After 94 played minutes Queluzito got a freekick which was hit by Felippe Fonseca. Ecuador's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
