Sixto Abascal kicked well hit freekick during the 16th minute of the match. Hugon Marut made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tomas Illescas in the 19th minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Mervin Corley got free with Jonathan Ferrant in the 24th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After 25 played minutes Log Horizon got a freekick which was hit by Edgar Ziombkowski. Tomas Illescas shot from long distance after 25 played minutes, a shot that Hugon Marut with certain difficulty stopped from going in under the crossbar. Jonathan Ferrant showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from González Texidor, who was totally free with the ball in the 32nd minute. The long shot by González Texidor in the 34th minute really tested Jonathan Ferrant's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. Hugon Marut showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tomas Illescas in the 43rd minute of the match. In the 44th minute of the match Venezuela got a corner. Log Horizon's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Tomas Illescas ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner ended in Tomas Illescas almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Log Horizon's Hugon Marut did a great save. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Log Horizon's Hugon Marut played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Patricio Costa in the 51st minute of play. If Mervin Corley had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 54th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When the match clock showed 58 minutes, the score became 2-0 when Mervin Corley sped through Venezuela's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Jonathan Ferrant. Jose Correa's late challenge caught a Log Horizon's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card.
