An unexpectedly hard shot by Julian Murillo in the 8th minute of play forced Aves Negras's goalkeeper Marcial Bakar to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Julian Murillo's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Marcial Bakar read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 13th minute of play. Peru's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Luz Tejedor in the 14th minute. The corner led Peru's Eliseo Mina to fire away a dangerous shot which Marcial Bakar despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Rolando Noboa made a fantastic save in the 42nd minute, when Guter Tobia sent off a good shot on target. 44 minutes into the match, Aves Negras's goal looked a bit too open when Julian Murillo came free, but Marcial Bakar reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Aves Negras's Marcial Bakar played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Julian Murillo in the 46th minute of play. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

The wind increased when Julian Murillo made the kick off in the second half. Marcial Bakar showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Luz Tejedor in the 55th minute of the match. In the 56th match minute, Peru was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alonso Berganza to maneuver through the defense. 60 minutes into the match, Aves Negras's goal looked a bit too open when Eliseo Mina came free, but Marcial Bakar reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Julian Murillo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 66th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Aves Negras made a substitution. Aves Negras's Efrain Artal got a good chance for a goal in the 85th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 88 minutes into the match, Efrain Artal notched a goal, 3-0, to the right of Peru's Rolando Noboa. Rolando Noboa was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. 95 minutes into the match, Peru's goal looked a bit too open when Efrain Artal came free, but Rolando Noboa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Aves Negras's Efrain Artal got a good chance for a goal in the 97th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Peru's supporters were dissatisfied at the end of the match because Aves Negras had won, even though Peru had held more of the ball.
