A collision led to Venezuela getting a freekick after 22 minutes play. Jose Correa hit a great ball. Lucas Barcelos might have been able to make a better finish in the 23rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Jonathan Ferrant. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Lucas Barcelos ran back to his position shaking his head. Guillermo Mariano kicked well hit freekick during the 24th minute of the match. Jonathan Ferrant made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lucas Barcelos in the 30th minute of play. 31 minutes into the match, Lucas Barcelos notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant. Jonathan Ferrant was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. 37 minutes into the game, C A U's Lucas Barcelos nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Jonathan Ferrant made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. Tomas Illescas fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 43rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Feliberto Gonsalvo having to interfere. After 44 played minutes C A U got a freekick which was hit by Nico González. Feliberto Gonsalvo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tomas Illescas, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lucas Barcelos in the 47th minute of play forced Venezuela's goalkeeper Jonathan Ferrant to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-2 lead.

The wind increased when Lucas Barcelos made the kick off in the second half. Nico González might have been able to make a better finish in the 57th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Jonathan Ferrant. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Nico González ran back to his position shaking his head. Venezuela were furious when Rigoberto Mina was red carded, 60 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Lucas Barcelos might have been able to make a better finish in the 64th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Jonathan Ferrant. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Lucas Barcelos ran back to his position shaking his head. 67 minutes into the match, Venezuela's goal looked a bit too open when Lucas Barcelos came free, but Jonathan Ferrant reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Guillermo Mariano hit a great freekick 68 minutes into the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 69th minute, Lucas Barcelos managed to get in a good position for a shot. C A U's supporters rose to their feet, but Lucas Barcelos was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jonathan Ferrant breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The audience held their breath when Salvador Gisbert in the 75th minute of the game managed to trick the opponents defenses and fired away a shot outside the goal on the Feliberto Gonsalvo's left hand side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lucas Barcelos in the 79th minute of play forced Venezuela's goalkeeper Jonathan Ferrant to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a rather tough play, C A U's Enrique Hrabina got a free kick in the 82nd minute. In the 83rd match minute, C A U was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Enrique Hrabina to maneuver through the defense. Danilo Osasun kicked well hit freekick during the 86th minute of the match. In the 89th minute, Jorge Nahia got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 92ndth minute of the game Jorge Nahia who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Jonathan Ferrant was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Jorge Nahia showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 0-3 in the 95 minute of play.
