In the 5th minute, Karhan Siralp ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Julio Vera was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Roberto Nunes in the 10th minute of play. Daniel Zorita scored 1-1 in the 12th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Janar Lehismets, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Karhan Siralp in the 21st minute of play. Janar Lehismets showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Agustín Saelices, who was totally free with the ball in the 25th minute. Janar Lehismets took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Daniel Zorita, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The supporters of Ecuador booed when New Loser FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 42 match minutes in a wonderful position. Vito Melo didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ecuador's Cristian Sancho got a good chance for a goal in the 43rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. New Loser FC's Roberto Nunes suffered a sprained foot after 45 minutes and couldn't finish the game. Felix Montes's late challenge caught a New Loser FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Felix Montes helped the player get up and apologised. New Loser FC's Christian Ljungberg was substituted for Roberto Nunes. After 46 played minutes Ecuador got a freekick which was hit by Felix Montes. After having played for 47 minutes, Rogério Vieira managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. New Loser FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Rogério Vieira was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 3-1.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Karhan Siralp stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. When New Loser FC's Karhan Siralp in the 52nd minute got a chance for a shot 52nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Ecuador's goalie prevented a goal. In the 55th minute, Murilo Paraíba ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Julio Vera was frozen by the shot and now it was 4-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cristian Sancho in the 58th minute of play forced New Loser FC's goalkeeper Janar Lehismets to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. New Loser FC's Murilo Paraíba got a good chance for a goal in the 60th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cristian Sancho in the 61st minute of play forced New Loser FC's goalkeeper Janar Lehismets to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Agustín Saelices hit a great freekick 63 minutes into the match. After 63 played minutes Ecuador got a freekick which was hit by Felix Montes. In the 65th minute Luis Andino shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Janar Lehismets saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Janar Lehismets made an important save on a dangerous shot by Daniel Zorita in the 69th minute. In the 70th minute, César Bittencourt hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. New Loser FC's Janar Lehismets proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 80th minute of the match, managed to save New Loser FC from getting a goal against them. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Karhan Siralp in the 82nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Julio Vera saved Ecuador from getting behind. The supporters of New Loser FC booed when Ecuador was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 97 match minutes in a wonderful position. Antonio Arias didn't get a good kick on the ball. The home crowd let out a huge roar when the referee blew for the end of the game. New Loser FC were victorious despite being under pressure from Ecuador for much of the match.
