If Luz Tejedor had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 3rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Maximiano Delgado kicked well hit freekick during the 5th minute of the match. Belgrano de Pibasog's Bernardo Raggio proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 7th minute of the match, managed to save Belgrano de Pibasog from getting a goal against them. 10 minutes into the match, Peru's goal looked a bit too open when Judas Verón came free, but Rolando Noboa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Julian Murillo in the 12th minute of play forced Belgrano de Pibasog's goalkeeper Bernardo Raggio to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Rolando Noboa didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Judas Verón went, in the 25th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. 29 minutes into the game, one of Peru:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Peru:s Rolando Noboa showed great skill when he stopped Eustaquio Fortun:s penalty. Peru's Eliseo Mina quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Maximiano Delgado, made in the 35th minute of the game. Bernardo Raggio made a fantastic save in the 36th minute, when Luz Tejedor sent off a good shot on target. Bernardo Raggio made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Julian Murillo in the 38th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Eliseo Mina in the 44th minute of play forced Belgrano de Pibasog's goalkeeper Bernardo Raggio to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The Peru players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Belgrano de Pibasog were winning 0-2.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Julian Murillo stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 51st minute, Silvio Abadia got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The throw-in from Maximiano Delgado in the 58th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Peru's Eliseo Mina. A collision led to Belgrano de Pibasog getting a freekick after 58 minutes play. Judas Verón hit a great ball. After a rather tough play, Peru's Emmanuel Reyes got a free kick in the 63rd minute. Belgrano de Pibasog were awarded a corner in the 65th minute after Peru's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Blue Dolar took the corner. Bernardo Raggio came out of the goal in the 72nd minute to try and stop a shot by Peru's Milagros Fraga. But to his dismay, Milagros Fraga quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-2. Belgrano de Pibasog's Teodoro Baleren was substituted for Blue Dolar. In the 83rd minute, Teodoro Baleren hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Peru made a substitution. Rafael Gallo replaced Julian Murillo. Belgrano de Pibasog's Iulian Ilinca was substituted for Judas Verón. Peru made a substitution. Eliseo Alcocer replaced Moises Gayoso. In the 85th minute, Teodoro Baleren hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The supporters of Peru booed when Belgrano de Pibasog was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 87 match minutes in a wonderful position. Teodoro Baleren didn't get a good kick on the ball. Iulian Ilinca's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Rolando Noboa read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 92nd minute of play. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Belgrano de Pibasog had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
