Daniel Zorita's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. In the 18th minute, Ecuador's Agustín Saelices ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Ralph Roeles. Ralph Roeles yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 2-0. Julias Rascals Apeldoorn's Ralph Roeles proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 22nd minute of the match, managed to save Julias Rascals Apeldoorn from getting a goal against them. Julio Vera showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jan de Vlieger, who was totally free with the ball in the 23rd minute. After having played for 25 minutes, Jan de Vlieger managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Julias Rascals Apeldoorn's supporters crossed their fingers, but Jan de Vlieger was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 26 minutes into the match, Ecuador's Cristian Sancho sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Ralph Roeles narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The audience thought a goal was coming when Cristian Sancho got free with Ralph Roeles in the 28th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Ralph Roeles showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cristian Sancho, who was totally free with the ball in the 30th minute. In the 33rd minute Ecuador were awarded a corner. Daniel Zorita went to the cornerflag to take it. Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jan de Vlieger in the 37th minute of play. 38 minutes into the match, Daniel Zorita had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Ralph Roeles. Julias Rascals Apeldoorn's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Daniel Zorita was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-0. The supporters of Ecuador booed when Julias Rascals Apeldoorn was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 41 match minutes in a wonderful position. Emiliano Caiola didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 42nd minute, Felix Montenegro managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ecuador's supporters rose to their feet, but Felix Montenegro was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ralph Roeles breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Jan de Vlieger took the ball and in the 47 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Julio Vera. Julio Vera dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-1. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 3-1 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Daniel Zorita was the one to do the kick off. In the 51st match minute, Julias Rascals Apeldoorn was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Johan Saveneij to maneuver through the defense. 53 minutes into the match, Julias Rascals Apeldoorn's goal looked a bit too open when Cristian Sancho came free, but Ralph Roeles reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 59th match minute, Julias Rascals Apeldoorn was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Norbert Skrzypek to maneuver through the defense. After 59 played minutes, Ecuador's Daniel Zorita shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Ralph Roeles came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Ecuador reached it. Ralph Roeles didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Cristian Sancho went, in the 65th minute, to the upper right corner, 4-1 was the resulting score. After a rather tough play, Julias Rascals Apeldoorn's Emiliano Caiola got a free kick in the 67th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 69th minute, Agustín Saelices managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ecuador's supporters rose to their feet, but Agustín Saelices was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ralph Roeles breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Cristian Sancho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 70th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cristian Sancho in the 77th minute of play forced Julias Rascals Apeldoorn's goalkeeper Ralph Roeles to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 78 minutes had been played when some careless play by Julias Rascals Apeldoorn's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Daniel Zorita was slow to take the kick. During this time Ecuador's players had a chance to rest. Cristian Sancho received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 84th minute. Ralph Roeles tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Cristian Sancho's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Ralph Roeles read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 86th minute of play. Daniel Zorita sent away a hard shot on goal in the 89th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Ralph Roeles made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Daniel Zorita in the 91st minute of play. Ralph Roeles showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Agustín Saelices, who was totally free with the ball in the 92nd minute. The audience was convinced that Daniel Zorita's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Ralph Roeles was relentless in the 95th minute of the game. Ecuador's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
