Disappointed in the 1-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Francisco Seco stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. The supporters of Uruguay booed when BERMEJO was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 51 match minutes in a wonderful position. Victor Flores didn't get a good kick on the ball. Uruguay's Francisco Seco got a good chance for a goal in the 52nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. BERMEJO's Victor Flores was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Joaquin Gayoso in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. BERMEJO's Jacinto Varela got a good chance for a goal in the 80th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When Jacinto Varela came up free with the goalie in the 82nd minute, the BERMEJO fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jacinto Varela couldn't finish the play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Bruno Romildo in the 90th minute of play forced Uruguay's goalkeeper Joaquin Gayoso to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Raul Dantae got a throw-in 92 minutes in the game and the ball was received by Ariel Seber. Jacinto Varela fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 95th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Joaquin Gayoso having to interfere.
