Uruguay's supporters rose to their feet, but Maximiliano Escribano was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Thorsten Ternes breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 6th minute Loukianos Staikos shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Joaquin Gayoso saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The International Thunders fans' excitement grew in the 9th match minute when International Thunders's Loukianos Staikos looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Rodrigo Ferdinand fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 13th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Joaquin Gayoso having to interfere. Joaquin Gayoso showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Rodrigo Ferdinand in the 15th minute of the match. International Thunders's Thorsten Ternes proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 18th minute of the match, managed to save International Thunders from getting a goal against them. In the 27th minute, Rodrigo Ferdinand ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Joaquin Gayoso was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-2. In the 29th minute Loukianos Staikos shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Joaquin Gayoso saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Joaquin Gayoso took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Loukianos Staikos, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A sloppy throw-in by Lionel 柯景亦 in the 45th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Uruguay's Alberto Gisbert.

The wind increased when Francisco Seco made the kick off in the second half. When Loukianos Staikos came up free with the goalie in the 52nd minute, the International Thunders fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Loukianos Staikos couldn't finish the play. Thorsten Ternes showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Francisco Seco in the 55th minute of the match. When Jaime Cazalla came up free with the goalie in the 57th minute, the Uruguay fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jaime Cazalla couldn't finish the play. Joaquin Gayoso made an important save on a dangerous shot by Rodrigo Ferdinand in the 61st minute. After 68 played minutes International Thunders got a freekick which was hit by Tibor Bäuschlein. Tibor Bäuschlein hit a great freekick 69 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Percival Costa in the 71st minute of play forced Uruguay's goalkeeper Joaquin Gayoso to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 72nd minute, Maximiliano Escribano made a precise shot to the right of Thorsten Ternes. International Thunders's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-2. Joaquin Gayoso made a fantastic save in the 78th minute, when Rodrigo Ferdinand sent off a good shot on target. International Thunders's Carlo Gerick was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Joaquin Gayoso in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Joaquin Gayoso showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Percival Costa in the 82nd minute of the match. Oskar Vahlberg hit a great freekick 88 minutes into the match. After a rather tough play, Uruguay's Camilo Franco got a free kick in the 89th minute. Joaquin Gayoso made an important save on a dangerous shot by Rodrigo Ferdinand in the 91st minute. Thorsten Ternes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alberto Gisbert in the 93rd minute of play. International Thunders's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
