Qiu Chuan Ran was out of position in the 26 minute of play, and Axel Montenegro capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Axel Montenegro really showed his touch with that goal: 1-1. 31 minutes into the match, Colombia's goal looked a bit too open when Raimundo Ventura came free, but Pedro Manzanares reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 31 minutes of play, Sporting Clube V.R.S.A.'s Gonzalo Lixandro made it 1-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Pedro Manzanares was left in no man's land by his defense there! Pedro Manzanares was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Qiu Chuan Ran made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Santino Seco in the 45th minute of play. When Santino Seco, who was free, got the in front of the goal in the 46 minute he wasn't focused and tipped the ball just over the goal. The Qiu Chuan Ran was delighted since the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 2-3.

Colombia's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Sporting Clube V.R.S.A. the free kick. After 62 played minutes Colombia got a freekick which was hit by Santino Seco. In the 64th minute, Gonzalo Lixandro left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Sporting Clube V.R.S.A. fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-4. The supporters of Sporting Clube V.R.S.A. booed when Colombia was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 66 match minutes in a wonderful position. Samuel Navarro didn't get a good kick on the ball. Sporting Clube V.R.S.A. made a substitution. Claudemiro Madureira replaced Israel Carvalhal. Colombia made a substitution. Ignacio Mastache replaced Abram Sarmiento. Colombia were awarded a corner in the 90th minute after Sporting Clube V.R.S.A.'s defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Kevin Mastache took the corner. After some careless play in the Sporting Clube V.R.S.A. defense, Abram Secada kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Qiu Chuan Ran. The Sporting Clube V.R.S.A. fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Qiu Chuan Ran should have stopped the shot. When Colombia's Abram Secada in the 96th minute got a chance for a shot 96th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. When the match was over Sporting Clube V.R.S.A. could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Colombia throughout the match.
