The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 4th minute of the game. One of Venezuela:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of JM Don Vidales 62:s goal. When the match had been going on for 5 minutes, JM Don Vidales 62's Richard Rodríguez got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Jonathan Ferrant. Jonathan Ferrant made a fantastic save in the 7th minute, when Tauro Vidales sent off a good shot on target. 10 minutes into the match, Tomas Illescas had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Llanos Justo. JM Don Vidales 62's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Tomas Illescas was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Heli Aizpurua in the 13th minute of play. If Tomas Illescas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 19th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Patricio Costa struck a weak shot in the 25th minute. Llanos Justo didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Venezuela. Jonathan Ferrant made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Heli Aizpurua in the 34th minute of play. Jonathan Ferrant showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Richard Rodríguez in the 40th minute of the match.
Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Richard Rodríguez to make the kick off. In the 62nd minute, Guillermo Mariano hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 64 minutes into the match, Venezuela's goal looked a bit too open when Richard Rodríguez came free, but Jonathan Ferrant reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The referee ignored JM Don Vidales 62's protests and gave Richard Rodríguez a yellow card for diving instead. After 66 played minutes JM Don Vidales 62 got a freekick which was hit by Richard Rodríguez. Jonathan Ferrant made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Stanyo Miloykov in the 70th minute of play. Tomas Illescas fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 72nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Llanos Justo having to interfere. When the match had gone on for 76 minutes, Tauro Vidales put it in 2-2 from a short distance just to the right of Jonathan Ferrant. In the 79th minute, Richard Rodríguez ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Jonathan Ferrant was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-2.
