When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Julian Murillo made a kick off. In the 55th minute Peru were awarded a corner. Luz Tejedor went to the cornerflag to take it. Peru's Milagros Fraga was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Guido Quintin in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Guido Quintin showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Rafael Gallo, who was totally free with the ball in the 90th minute. After 91 minutes of play, Peru's Antonio Tenorio made it 0-4 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Peru eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
