In the 21st minute of the match Peru got a corner. S O B E R A N O CIMZ's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Luz Tejedor ran over to the corner to take the kick. Fran Guerola stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Julian Murillo's shot from short distance in the 23rd minute. The audience was convinced that Julian Murillo's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Fran Guerola was relentless in the 27th minute of the game. When Peru's Julian Murillo, in the 32nd minute, received a pass right in front of the net, it looked like a certain goal, but his shot went outside. A wasted opportunity for Peru. Julian Murillo ran back to his position shaking his head. Eliézer de Queirós came free with the goalkeeper in the 42nd minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Rolando Noboa could save by the left post. 44 minutes into the match, Peru's Julian Murillo sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Fran Guerola narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After the first half Peru were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

S O B E R A N O CIMZ made a substitution. Dito Guedes replaced Battal Gazi Bey. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Dito Guedes to make the kick off. 52 minutes into the match, Peru's goal looked a bit too open when Dito Guedes came free, but Rolando Noboa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When the match had gone on for 56 minutes, Dito Guedes put it in 1-2 from a short distance just to the right of Rolando Noboa. Fran Guerola showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Julian Murillo, who was totally free with the ball in the 60th minute. Rolando Noboa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dito Guedes in the 86th minute of the match. S O B E R A N O CIMZ's Fran Guerola proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 89th minute of the match, managed to save S O B E R A N O CIMZ from getting a goal against them. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Rafael Gallo in the 92nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Fran Guerola prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Rolando Noboa stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Dito Guedes's shot from short distance in the 94th minute. The final whistle blew with the score still tied, and both teams left the pitch thinking about the missed chances that could have given their team the win.
