The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Stig-Ove Lundblad helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Kosteños getting a freekick after 16 minutes play. Stig-Ove Lundblad hit a great ball. Kosteños's attentive Joel Venceslao managed to snatch the ball when Jose Carita made a throw-in in the 18th minute of the game. The supporters of Panama booed when Kosteños was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 19 match minutes in a wonderful position. Stig-Ove Lundblad didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 20th minute, Tomas Berganza fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. Panama's supporters rose to their feet, but Tomas Berganza was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Oswaldo Murillo breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Oswaldo Murillo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Abraham Alguacil in the 82nd minute of play. The corner led to Panama's Miguel Miralles getting away a dangerous shot that went just outside the goal. In the 86th minute Rareș Taşcău shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marcos Cotilla saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 86 minutes into the game, Rareș Taşcău cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-3. Marcos Cotilla was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 92nd minute, Aaron Barrios hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 94 played minutes Kosteños got a freekick which was hit by Joel Venceslao. Neither set of supporters seemed pleased with the draw, but both teams had played equally well today.
