Mexico's Facundo Cadaval got a good chance for a goal in the 11th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Oswaldo Velloso made an important save on a dangerous shot by Joel Gaona in the 13th minute. In the 16th minute Roberto Eger shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dante Lacasa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Luca Zorita blasted a shot towards the goal in the 22nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Oswaldo Velloso having to make a save. Paraná Clube PG's Oswaldo Velloso played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Luca Zorita in the 22nd minute of play. Thanks to some nice moves Lautaro Mancebo could shoot a difficult shot in the 24th minute, which Oswaldo Velloso however easily saved by the left post. An unexpectedly hard shot by Durvalino Paranaense in the 40th minute of play forced Mexico's goalkeeper Dante Lacasa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Roberto Eger to make the kick off. After 52 played minutes Paraná Clube PG got a freekick which was hit by Bob Holz. In the 56th minute, Alberto Tafalla left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Mexico fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-0. Paraná Clube PG made a substitution. Ernani Rosa replaced Mauro Valadares. In the 97th minute, Lautaro Mancebo ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Oswaldo Velloso was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-1. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Mexico fully deserved thier win.
