Gonçalo de Medeiros showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Eliseo Mina in the 17th minute of the match. Rolando Noboa made an important save on a dangerous shot by Roneixon Siqueira in the 21st minute. In the 24th minute of the game Oswaldo Nascimento made a throw-in which Ulisses Aparecido played forward. In the 30th minute Julian Murillo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gonçalo de Medeiros saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Luz Tejedor in the 45th minute of play forced Espigão Steamrollers's goalkeeper Gonçalo de Medeiros to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Julian Murillo to strike the kick off in the second half. A collision led to Espigão Steamrollers getting a freekick after 55 minutes play. When the match was over Peru could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Espigão Steamrollers throughout the match.
