Vicente Berto made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Abraham Alguacil in the 21st minute of play. Marcos Cotilla made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Roman Mark in the 23rd minute of play. 25 minutes into the game, Luisito Segio was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Real Ayuntamiento CF's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Panama the free kick. The supporters of Panama booed when Real Ayuntamiento CF was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 25 match minutes in a wonderful position. Luisito Segio didn't get a good kick on the ball. After having played for 27 minutes, Abraham Alguacil managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Panama's supporters crossed their fingers, but Abraham Alguacil was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Panama's Miguel Miralles got a good chance for a goal in the 35th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 37th minute, Abraham Alguacil hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Eustaquio Errolan hit a great freekick 44 minutes into the match. Abraham Alguacil blasted a shot towards the goal in the 47th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Vicente Berto having to make a save. 1-1 became the score in the 47th minute when Tomas Berganza elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Roman Mark made a kick off. Alex Cambeiro could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 53rd minute of the match, but Vicente Berto made a huge save. Abraham Alguacil came free with the goalkeeper in the 55th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Vicente Berto could save by the left post. Vicente Berto showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tomas Berganza, who was totally free with the ball in the 57th minute. Marcos Cotilla showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Maximo Cai in the 62nd minute of the match. 67 minutes into the match, Miguel Miralles dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Vicente Berto, 1-2. A collision led to Panama getting a freekick after 73 minutes play. Aaron Barrios hit a great ball. In the 79th minute Vinicio Lopes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marcos Cotilla saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 81 minutes into the match, Real Ayuntamiento CF's goalkeeper Vicente Berto had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Isidoro Sarmiento. In the 83rd minute, Isidoro Sarmiento got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Vicente Berto showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tomas Berganza, who was totally free with the ball in the 85th minute.
