Spectators: 44 (Terracing: 34, Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) Axel Tasis made the kick off and thus started the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 4th minute, Lautaro Puig managed to get in a good position for a shot. Costa Rica's supporters rose to their feet, but Lautaro Puig was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. 정 간 breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Costa Rica's Axel Tasis got a good chance for a goal in the 6th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 7th match minute, Costa Rica was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Eliseo Noboa to maneuver through the defense. 이 하 recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 13th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Benito Sanz was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but 김 최 showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-0 in the 17 minute of play. Juan Rubio's late challenge caught a Vancouver Whitecaps's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Juan Rubio helped the player get up and apologised. 21 minutes into the match, Costa Rica's goalkeeper Benito Sanz had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by 이 하. Costa Rica's defense didn't have a chance, in the 26th minute, when 김 최 scored to the left of an out of position Benito Sanz, making the score, 2-0. 정 간 didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Eliseo Noboa went, in the 30th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-1 was the resulting score. 박 환 kicked well hit freekick during the 35th minute of the match. Vancouver Whitecaps's 이 하 got a good chance for a goal in the 38th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Eliseo Noboa hit a great freekick 39 minutes into the match. 이 하 received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 40th minute. Benito Sanz tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Lautaro Puig might have been able to make a better finish in the 42nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over 정 간. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Lautaro Puig ran back to his position shaking his head. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when 김 최 stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Benito Sanz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from 박 궉 in the 52nd minute of the match. In the 52nd minute, 박 궉 left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Vancouver Whitecaps fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-1. 이 하 recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 56th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When 김 최 fell near the penalty area in the 58th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Vancouver Whitecaps's protests and gave 김 최 a yellow card for diving instead. In the 58th minute, 김 최 hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 62 minutes into the match, 김 최 had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Benito Sanz. Costa Rica's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that 김 최 was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 4-1. 박 환 hit a great freekick 66 minutes into the match. Benito Sanz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from 이 하, who was totally free with the ball in the 73rd minute. Costa Rica's Benito Sanz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by 김 최 in the 75th minute of play. If 김 최 had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 84th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Benito Sanz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from 김 최 in the 87th minute of the match. Eliseo Noboa blasted a shot towards the goal in the 88th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without 정 간 having to make a save. Eliseo Noboa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 90th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Axel Tasis's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but 정 간 read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 96th minute of play. Vancouver Whitecaps's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
