Rudolf Meulman was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Eulalio Francesco showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nicolas Satordi, who was totally free with the ball in the 18th minute. Stacey Banning did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 2-0 to the left of a surprised Rudolf Meulman 20 minutes into the match. The Olimpo de Bahia Blanca fans' excitement grew in the 23rd match minute when Olimpo de Bahia Blanca's Nicolas Satordi looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 2-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Rudolf Meulman was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Stacey Banning showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 5-1 in the 47 minute of play. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.
