A collision led to Ecuador getting a freekick after 45 minutes play. Antonio Arias hit a great ball. Ecuador's Julio Vera proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 48th minute of the match, managed to save Ecuador from getting a goal against them. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Daniel Zorita made a kick off. Sancho Vivero showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cristian Sancho in the 74th minute of the match. Nofre Ibarrola blasted a shot towards the goal in the 77th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Julio Vera having to make a save. In the 88th minute, Daniel Zorita hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Nofre Ibarrola might have been able to make a better finish in the 92nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Julio Vera. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Nofre Ibarrola ran back to his position shaking his head. The home crowd let out a huge roar when the referee blew for the end of the game. ¢σи єℓ вσℓѕσ иσ ¢σмρєтιѕ were victorious despite being under pressure from Ecuador for much of the match.
