An unexpectedly hard shot by Erasmo Simão in the 30th minute of play forced Venezuela's goalkeeper Jonathan Ferrant to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Grentino FC's Falcão Sampaio played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tomas Illescas in the 53rd minute of play. In the 58th minute Erasmo Simão shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jonathan Ferrant saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A collision led to Venezuela getting a freekick after 91 minutes play. Rigoberto Mina hit a great ball. When the match had gone on for 92 minutes, Bo Edström took a quick shot and it went in 0-2 without a chance for Jonathan Ferrant to make any attempt to save it.
