In the 10th minute, Juan Rubio hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Henning Beckeman in the 11th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Benito Sanz saved Costa Rica from getting behind. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Alan Moruga during the 12th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Jens Bohlin showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Eliseo Noboa, who was totally free with the ball in the 15th minute. Elliott Bredberg scored 0-1 in the 21st match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Benito Sanz, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Benito Sanz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Henning Beckeman, who was totally free with the ball in the 24th minute. Benito Sanz breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 64 minutes into the match, Elliott Bredberg had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Benito Sanz. Costa Rica's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Elliott Bredberg was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-4. The supporters of Costa Rica booed when Köping was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 67 match minutes in a wonderful position. Henning Beckeman didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Alex Lidström had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 69th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Aaron Alcocer kicked well hit freekick during the 69th minute of the match. Alex Lidström received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 80th minute. Benito Sanz tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Köping's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
