Ecuador's Daniel Zorita was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Fausto Di Giambattista in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Fausto Di Giambattista was left in no man's land by his defense there! Danny Howarth hit a great ball. Luis Andino fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 48th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fausto Di Giambattista having to interfere. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Daniel Zorita was the one to do the kick off. After some fancy dribbling in the 52nd minute, Cristian Sancho managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ecuador's supporters rose to their feet, but Cristian Sancho was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Fausto Di Giambattista breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 57 minutes had been played when some careless play by DESTROYER's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Daniel Zorita was slow to take the kick. During this time Ecuador's players had a chance to rest. Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Zé Telo in the 59th minute of play. After having played for 62 minutes, Daniel Zorita managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ecuador's supporters crossed their fingers, but Daniel Zorita was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When Cristian Sancho came up free with the goalie in the 65th minute, the Ecuador fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Cristian Sancho couldn't finish the play. Daniel Zorita struck a weak shot in the 76th minute. Fausto Di Giambattista didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ecuador. Fausto Di Giambattista made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cristian Sancho in the 79th minute of play. Fausto Di Giambattista took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cristian Sancho, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ferruccio Valerio in the 85th minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 87th minute, Cristian Sancho got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 89 minutes into the match, DESTROYER's goalkeeper Fausto Di Giambattista had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Daniel Zorita. Ciccio Alessandro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 93rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Julio Vera having to interfere. Fausto Di Giambattista showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Daniel Zorita, who was totally free with the ball in the 95th minute. Ecuador were unable to convert their possession into goals, allowing DESTROYER to leave the ground with a draw.
