Venezuela's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. If Patricio Costa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 33rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 35 minutes into the game, DESTROYER's Ferruccio Valerio nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Jonathan Ferrant made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. Tomas Illescas received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 39th minute. Fausto Di Giambattista tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Jonathan Ferrant made a fantastic save in the 41st minute, when Zé Telo sent off a good shot on target. Jonathan Ferrant was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Anselmo Baresi showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 2-0 in the 46 minute of play.

In the 51st minute Zé Telo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jonathan Ferrant saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A collision led to Venezuela getting a freekick after 52 minutes play. Jose Correa hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Zé Telo in the 53rd minute of play forced Venezuela's goalkeeper Jonathan Ferrant to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Zé Telo in the 56th minute of play. Tomas Illescas was slow to take the kick. During this time Venezuela's players had a chance to rest. In the 77th minute, Ferruccio Valerio ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Jonathan Ferrant was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-0. Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Zé Telo in the 80th minute of play. 87 minutes into the match, Ferruccio Valerio had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Jonathan Ferrant. Venezuela's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Ferruccio Valerio was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 4-0. Fausto Di Giambattista showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tomas Illescas in the 93rd minute of the match. Fausto Di Giambattista took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Patricio Costa, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. For all the effort they put into the match, the Venezuela players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for DESTROYER.
