When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Daniel Zorita made a kick off. Cristian Sancho fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 88th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Emilian Martinez having to interfere. After 94 minutes, Vegim Dimitrovski mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Racing Club and the Ecuador players grew even worse after the yellow card. Vegim Dimitrovski kicked well hit freekick during the 95th minute of the match. If Cristian Sancho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 96th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Despite being the better team, Ecuador failed to find the winning goal and were forced to settle for a single point.
