Spectators: 43 (Terracing: 33, Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) Victorino Peake made the kick off and thus started the match. Victorino Peake took the ball and in the 5 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Julio Vera. Julio Vera dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-0. When Cristian Sancho came up free with the goalie in the 11th minute, the Ecuador fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Cristian Sancho couldn't finish the play. Serbülent Baysan made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cristian Sancho in the 15th minute of play. The supporters of Ecuador booed when FC Anderlecht Huachipato was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 16 match minutes in a wonderful position. Julio Cachero didn't get a good kick on the ball. Daniel Zorita fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 17th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Serbülent Baysan having to interfere. Vitaliy Fedchenko could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 19th minute of the match, but Julio Vera made a huge save. 22 minutes into the game, Agustín Saelices cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-1. Serbülent Baysan was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. When FC Anderlecht Huachipato's Victorino Peake in the 26th minute got a chance for a shot 26th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Cristian Sancho in the 41st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Serbülent Baysan prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 43rd minute, Daniel Zorita got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After 44 played minutes FC Anderlecht Huachipato got a freekick which was hit by Julio Cachero. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Daniel Zorita to make the kick off. Julio Vera stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Victorino Peake's shot from short distance in the 54th minute. After a defensive mix-up in FC Anderlecht Huachipato's zone, Cristian Sancho stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Serbülent Baysan came out of the goal and Cristian Sancho tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. FC Anderlecht Huachipato's Felix Txilar was substituted for Maximino Astudillo. The audience thought a goal was coming when Cristian Sancho got free with Serbülent Baysan in the 66th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. A collision led to FC Anderlecht Huachipato getting a freekick after 67 minutes play. Lucero Liendo hit a great ball. If Luis Andino had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 68th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Julio Vera took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Victorino Peake, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cristian Sancho in the 73rd minute of play forced FC Anderlecht Huachipato's goalkeeper Serbülent Baysan to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Julio Vera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Victorino Peake in the 74th minute of play. Serbülent Baysan came out of the goal and Cristian Sancho tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 96th minute, Luz Palacio got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Many of Ecuador's supporters were seen to leave the ground early as it became clear their team was going to lose. Ecuador may have spent more time on the ball, but FC Anderlecht Huachipato were more willing to take their chances and they walked away with the win.
