Chile's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Mariano Lacasa in the 5th minute. A collision led to Chile getting a freekick after 6 minutes play. Pedro Indiano hit a great ball. Mahmud Alp took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Mariano Lacasa, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Mahmud Alp made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mariano Lacasa in the 10th minute of play. Chile's Thiago Pliego proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 11th minute of the match, managed to save Chile from getting a goal against them. Abubakar Kamarád's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 13thth minute, Thiago Pliego skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Abubakar Kamaráds short, quick shot in the 15thth minute got Thiago Pliego to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. With an all-out effort, ARIS THESSALONIKI F.C.'s Thiago Pliego threw himself towards the right post 20 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Chu Zhen Xun, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. In the 21st minute ARIS THESSALONIKI F.C. were awarded a corner. Chu Zhen Xun went to the cornerflag to take it. The corner led to ARIS THESSALONIKI F.C.'s Demis Krasopoulos getting away a dangerous shot that went just outside the goal. Thiago Pliego made an important save on a dangerous shot by Demis Krasopoulos in the 21st minute. 26 minutes into the match, Chile's Mariano Lacasa sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Mahmud Alp narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 34th minute Abubakar Kamarád shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Thiago Pliego saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 38 minutes of play, Chile's Mariano Lacasa made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. If Mariano Lacasa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 47th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Chu Zhen Xun stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. 53 minutes into the match, Chile's goal looked a bit too open when Chu Zhen Xun came free, but Thiago Pliego reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The supporters of Chile booed when ARIS THESSALONIKI F.C. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 55 match minutes in a wonderful position. Demis Krasopoulos didn't get a good kick on the ball. 56 minutes into the game, Aris Keskeridis threw the ball into play from the sideline. Chile's Jose Manzanedo quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Mariano Lacasa in the 61st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Mahmud Alp saved ARIS THESSALONIKI F.C. from getting behind. Mahmud Alp made a fantastic save in the 68th minute, when Mariano Lacasa sent off a good shot on target. ARIS THESSALONIKI F.C.'s Chu Zhen Xun got a good chance for a goal in the 69th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 75 minutes into the game, Mariano Lacasa recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Mahmud Alp. Mariano Lacasa showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-2. Mariano Lacasa received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 79th minute. Mahmud Alp tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. ARIS THESSALONIKI F.C.'s Mahmud Alp proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 81st minute of the match, managed to save ARIS THESSALONIKI F.C. from getting a goal against them. Orlando Casaus sent away a hard shot on goal in the 82nd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Mariano Lacasa couldn't finish the play. 91 minutes into the match, Abubakar Kamarád had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Thiago Pliego. Chile's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Abubakar Kamarád was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-2. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The ARIS THESSALONIKI F.C. fans cheered their team off the field, for while Chile had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
