A collision led to Venezuela getting a freekick after 11 minutes play. Guillermo Mariano hit a great ball. Jonathan Ferrant showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Domingo Patrido in the 20th minute of the match. Tomas Illescas fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 22nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Slawomir Czerwinski having to interfere. If Tomas Illescas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpected shot in the 30th minute by Arnaldo Mota got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. The supporters of LRCA Office Club booed when Venezuela was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 31 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jose Correa didn't get a good kick on the ball. Jonathan Ferrant made a fantastic save in the 36th minute, when Arnaldo Mota sent off a good shot on target. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Tomas Illescas to make the kick off. After 59 minutes Venezuela's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Jacinto Iyan who took care of the corner kick. After a rather tough play, LRCA Office Club's Luís Eduardo Quadros got a free kick in the 82nd minute. Jonathan Ferrant showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Eliézer Leite, who was totally free with the ball in the 85th minute. After taking down the ball on LRCA Office Club's corner Jacinto Iyan fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Jonathan Ferrant quite easily take care of the ball. Tomas Illescas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 90th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal.
