The supporters of Honduras booed when ֆքօʀȶɨռɢ ʊǟɨ ʍʐƈ™ was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 9 match minutes in a wonderful position. Benito Laurin didn't get a good kick on the ball. Lautaro Navarro showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Benito Laurin, who was totally free with the ball in the 11th minute. Honduras's Lautaro Navarro played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Bebeto Sarmento in the 13th minute of play. Through an outstanding action, after 19 minutes, Sune Rudberg successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Sune Rudberg showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Edmundo Espiga in the 20th minute of the match. Sune Rudberg made a fantastic save in the 22nd minute, when Sebastian Villa sent off a good shot on target. 26 minutes into the game, ֆքօʀȶɨռɢ ʊǟɨ ʍʐƈ™'s Bebeto Sarmento nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Lautaro Navarro made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. 31 minutes into the match, Honduras's goal looked a bit too open when Bebeto Sarmento came free, but Lautaro Navarro reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Honduras's Valentín Carvallo managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Stig Ahlbeck in the 33 minute of the game. Stig Ahlbeck made in the 40th minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Honduras's Valentín Carvallo. Lautaro Navarro showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Bebeto Sarmento in the 46th minute of the match. Bebeto Sarmento took the ball and in the 48 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Lautaro Navarro. Lautaro Navarro dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The wind increased when Edmundo Espiga made the kick off in the second half. In the 60thth minute of the game Bebeto Sarmento who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Honduras's Lautaro Navarro was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 62nd minute the ball was on its way in behind Honduras's goalkeeper Lautaro Navarro, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Benito Laurin during the 63rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Bebeto Sarmento sent away a hard shot on goal in the 83rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After some fancy dribbling in the 95th minute, Bebeto Sarmento managed to get in a good position for a shot. ֆքօʀȶɨռɢ ʊǟɨ ʍʐƈ™'s supporters rose to their feet, but Bebeto Sarmento was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Lautaro Navarro breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When the referee blew the final whistle jeers and boos were heard from the home team's supporters. They were angered to see Honduras lose a match they had controlled from the kick-off.
