Oscar Felipo scored 1-0 in the 10th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Camilo Freixa, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The wind increased when Mario Fernandino made the kick off in the second half. Julio Chicote's late challenge caught a Chiche y Anto en el Cielo's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Julio Chicote helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Bolivia's Julio Chicote got a free kick in the 51st minute. Camilo Freixa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Oscar Felipo in the 57th minute of play. Andres Rufio recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 68th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Oscar Felipo struck a weak shot in the 74th minute. With a little luck, Chiche y Anto en el Cielo's Justo Nel got control of the ball when Eduardo Fontirroig tried to sneak it across the goal line.
