In the 20th minute of the match ORIZABA F.C. got a corner. Venezuela's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Nereo Esdras ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner ended in Nereo Esdras almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant did a great save. Jonathan Ferrant showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Manuel Macias in the 22nd minute of the match. In the 36th minute of the game Nereo Esdras made a throw-in which Dante Txema played forward. Tomas Illescas's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Gervasio Sazon read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 38th minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Ubaldo Mogel in the 40th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Jonathan Ferrant prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Jose Correa during the 42nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, Venezuela's Jose Correa got a free kick in the 42nd minute. 47 minutes into the match, Ubaldo Mogel had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Jonathan Ferrant. Venezuela's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Ubaldo Mogel was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Tomas Illescas was the one to do the kick off. Gervasio Sazon took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tomas Illescas, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 87th minute, Patricio Costa hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 94 minutes Venezuela's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Nereo Esdras who took care of the corner kick. A collision led to Venezuela getting a freekick after 95 minutes play. Jonathan Venegas hit a great ball. When the match was over ORIZABA F.C. could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Venezuela throughout the match.
