Astor Mederi showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cristian Sancho, who was totally free with the ball in the 16th minute. Ecuador's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Daniel Zorita in the 17th minute. The corner ended in Felix Montes almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Hasenkamp's Astor Mederi did a great save. 19 minutes into the match, Hasenkamp's goal looked a bit too open when Cristian Sancho came free, but Astor Mederi reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 23rd minute, Daniel Zorita hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 23 minutes of play, Hasenkamp's Cesar Godoy made it 1-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Julio Vera was left in no man's land by his defense there! Cristian Sancho received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 26th minute. Astor Mederi tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Ecuador's Daniel Zorita in the 34th minute got a chance for a shot 34th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Hasenkamp's goalie prevented a goal. Silvio Garoa charged in rather forcefully in the 35th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Silvio Garoa the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Ecuador booed when Hasenkamp was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 35 match minutes in a wonderful position. Silvio Garoa didn't get a good kick on the ball. Daniel Zorita struck a weak shot in the 38th minute. Astor Mederi didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ecuador. Lino Hermelando kicked well hit freekick during the 40th minute of the match. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

The wind increased when Cesar Godoy made the kick off in the second half. Daniel Zorita's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 54thth minute, Astor Mederi skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. With a little luck, Hasenkamp's Astor Mederi got control of the ball when Felix Montenegro tried to sneak it across the goal line. Ecuador's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. After 65 minutes, Cesar Godoy made it 2-1 with a short kick to the right side. Ecuador's Julio Vera tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Lino Hermelando hit a great freekick 73 minutes into the match. If Cristian Sancho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 86th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Astor Mederi made a fantastic save in the 92nd minute, when Daniel Zorita sent off a good shot on target. The Hasenkamp players were eager to celebrate when the final whistle sounded. They had somehow managed to win, even though the away team had held the majority of the possession.
