An unexpectedly hard shot by Mazinho Borges in the 5th minute of play forced Venezuela's goalkeeper Jonathan Ferrant to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Tomas Illescas struck a weak shot in the 11th minute. Kristian Vallander didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Venezuela. After 14 minutes, Claes Friberger mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Odens Boys Bollklubb and the Venezuela players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Odens Boys Bollklubb getting a freekick after 14 minutes play. Claes Friberger hit a great ball. The audience was convinced that Mazinho Borges's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Jonathan Ferrant was relentless in the 20th minute of the game. In the 22nd minute, Magnus Gulliksson got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Magnus Gulliksson scored 0-1 in the 24th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Jonathan Ferrant, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Jonathan Ferrant made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mazinho Borges in the 27th minute of play. If Tomas Illescas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 34th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Kristian Vallander showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tomas Illescas in the 36th minute of the match. Mazinho Borges fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 38th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jonathan Ferrant having to interfere. 41 minutes into the match, Venezuela's goal looked a bit too open when Mazinho Borges came free, but Jonathan Ferrant reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 44th minute, Axel Bengtsson had to be helped off the field due to a pulled leg muscle. 44 minutes into the game, Guillermo Mariano was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Venezuela's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Odens Boys Bollklubb the free kick. Odens Boys Bollklubb's Michael Holmgren was substituted for Axel Bengtsson. After a rather tough play, Venezuela's Guillermo Mariano got a free kick in the 46th minute.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Mazinho Borges was the one to do the kick off. In the 55th minute, Michael Holmgren reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Jonathan Ferrant. The goal made the score 1-2. In the 61st minute the ball was on its way in behind Venezuela's goalkeeper Jonathan Ferrant, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Odens Boys Bollklubb were awarded a corner in the 63th minute after Venezuela's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Fritz Öberg took the corner. A nice corner shot did that Fritz Öberg got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Jonathan Ferrant quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. After having played for 65 minutes, Magnus Gulliksson managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Odens Boys Bollklubb's supporters crossed their fingers, but Magnus Gulliksson was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Tomas Illescas in the 67th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Kristian Vallander saved Odens Boys Bollklubb from getting behind. In the 68th minute, Magnus Gulliksson fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Jonathan Ferrant, passed just outside the right post. After 83 played minutes Venezuela got a freekick which was hit by Patricio Costa. In the 84th minute Tomas Illescas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Kristian Vallander saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Camilo Gaos during the 85th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. If Patricio Costa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 87th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Mazinho Borges received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 89th minute. Jonathan Ferrant tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 91 played minutes Odens Boys Bollklubb got a freekick which was hit by Magnus Gulliksson. Odens Boys Bollklubb's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
