Colombia's Abram Sarmiento managed to work through Ferrao FC's defense and was going for an easy goal, but he hit the shot with his toe and the ball flew outside the goal. Abram Sarmiento dejectedly held out his arms as if to ask why the ball hadn't gone in. If Abram Sarmiento had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 37th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Axel Montenegro blasted a shot towards the goal in the 38th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without César Proença having to make a save. 38 minutes into the match, Ferrao FC's goalkeeper César Proença had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Axel Montenegro. 40 minutes into the match, Colombia's goal looked a bit too open when Carlinhos Viana came free, but Pedro Manzanares reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Pedro Manzanares showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Pelle Grini, who was totally free with the ball in the 43rd minute. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Abram Sarmiento made a kick off. Agustin Sergi hit a great freekick 52 minutes into the match. Abram Sarmiento took the ball and in the 54 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised César Proença. The supporters of Ferrao FC booed when Colombia was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 63 match minutes in a wonderful position. Luis Cazalla didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 69 minutes, Afonso Schmidt mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Ferrao FC and the Colombia players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Ferrao FC getting a freekick after 69 minutes play. Afonso Schmidt hit a great ball. In the 75th minute Ferrao FC were awarded a corner. Pelle Grini went to the cornerflag to take it. Ferrao FC's Pelle Grini was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Pedro Manzanares in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. 79 minutes into the match, Colombia's goal looked a bit too open when Angelo Vidal came free, but Pedro Manzanares reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 81st match minute, Ferrao FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by João Miranda to maneuver through the defense. When the match had gone on for 85 minutes, Carlinhos Viana took a quick shot and it went in 2-3 without a chance for Pedro Manzanares to make any attempt to save it. Carlinhos Viana made in the 91st minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Colombia's Abram Secada. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Ferrao FC eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
