After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Xacintu Magadan to make the kick off. The crowd rose to their feet as Agustín Saelices kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Mané Andrade. That made the score 2-3 in the 62 minute of play. Mané Andrade showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Luis Andino in the 65th minute of the match. In the 68th minute Maraponga FAC were awarded a corner. Jimmy Lind went to the cornerflag to take it. When Daniel Zorita came up free with the goalie in the 75th minute, the Ecuador fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Daniel Zorita couldn't finish the play. Julio Vera stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Xacintu Magadan's shot from short distance in the 79th minute. Daniel Zorita sent away a hard shot on goal in the 81st minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. 85 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goal looked a bit too open when Xacintu Magadan came free, but Julio Vera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Daniel Zorita received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Mané Andrade came out and tried to block the shot, but Daniel Zorita slotted it home off the left post making it 2-4 in the 89th minute.
