After a rather tough play, Ecuador's Felix Montes got a free kick in the 21st minute. After 23 played minutes Ecuador got a freekick which was hit by Camilo Gisbert. In the 25th minute Sabalero were awarded a corner. Honorio Stephen went to the cornerflag to take it. Emilio Bibiano showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Agustín Saelices in the 29th minute of the match. If Daniel Zorita had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 36th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Cristian Sancho might have been able to make a better finish in the 37th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Emilio Bibiano. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Cristian Sancho ran back to his position shaking his head. Emilio Bibiano showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cristian Sancho, who was totally free with the ball in the 40th minute. The corner ended in Daniel Zorita almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Sabalero's Emilio Bibiano did a great save. Agustín Saelices scored 0-2 in the 43rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Emilio Bibiano, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Daniel Zorita to strike the kick off in the second half. Cristian Sancho scored 0-3 in the 51st match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Emilio Bibiano, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Emilio Bibiano was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Agustín Saelices showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 0-4 in the 57 minute of play. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. Emilio Bibiano showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Daniel Zorita in the 77th minute of the match. Felix Montes was in a good position and managed to take a shot, but he missed just to the outside of the post. In the 80th minute, Cristian Sancho ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Emilio Bibiano was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-6. If Cristian Sancho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 84th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 89 minutes into the match, Daniel Zorita sent off a long shot that looked like it was going straight into the goal, but because Emilio Bibiano threw himself in his full length he managed to grip the ball by the left post, and there was no goal for Daniel Zorita this time. Luis Andino hit a great freekick 93 minutes into the match. Julio Vera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Basilio Eneko in the 93rd minute of play. In the 95th minute of the match Sabalero got a corner. Ecuador's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Honorio Stephen ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner ended in Honorio Stephen almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Ecuador's Julio Vera did a great save. When the final whistle sounded Ecuador left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Sabalero.
