With his leg Rolando Noboa managed to avoid a goal in the 16thth minute, when Cachiyuyo EAS's Fabricio Rencio fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. 21 minutes into the match, Peru's goalkeeper Rolando Noboa had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Fabricio Rencio. Celedonio Xabel hit a great freekick 22 minutes into the match. 25 minutes into the match, Cachiyuyo EAS's goal looked a bit too open when Julian Murillo came free, but Evaristo Velasco reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 26 minutes into the match, Julian Murillo had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Evaristo Velasco. Cachiyuyo EAS's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Julian Murillo was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-2. The supporters of Peru booed when Cachiyuyo EAS was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 31 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cirilo Pacho didn't get a good kick on the ball. Evaristo Velasco took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Luz Tejedor, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Edgard Polentzi in the 37th minute of play forced Peru's goalkeeper Rolando Noboa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Fabricio Rencio sent away a hard shot on goal in the 38th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Rolando Noboa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Fabricio Rencio, who was totally free with the ball in the 38th minute. Evaristo Velasco made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Luz Tejedor in the 40th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Cachiyuyo EAS's Elvio Etor got a free kick in the 41st minute. The audience held their breath when Luz Tejedor in the 43rd minute of the game managed to trick the opponents defenses and fired away a shot outside the goal on the Evaristo Velasco's left hand side.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Fabricio Rencio to make the kick off. Luz Tejedor could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 56th minute of the match, but Evaristo Velasco made a huge save. 0-3 became the score in the 59th minute when Luz Tejedor elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. Evaristo Velasco made a fantastic save in the 62nd minute, when Julian Murillo sent off a good shot on target. The audience thought a goal was coming when Julian Murillo got free with Evaristo Velasco in the 69th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Julian Murillos short, quick shot in the 74thth minute got Evaristo Velasco to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Rolando Noboa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Fabricio Rencio, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
