After a defensive mix-up in NapoleonMG's zone, Axel Tasis stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Bogdan Fafinski came out of the goal and Axel Tasis tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 5 played minutes Costa Rica got a freekick which was hit by Alan Moruga. An unexpectedly hard shot by Nicky Foote in the 6th minute of play forced Costa Rica's goalkeeper Benito Sanz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 6 minutes into the game, Alan Moruga was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Costa Rica's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave NapoleonMG the free kick. After a rather tough play, Costa Rica's Alan Moruga got a free kick in the 6th minute. In the 9th minute Eliseo Noboa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bogdan Fafinski saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 10th match minute, NapoleonMG was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Lucio Fagondo to maneuver through the defense. Bogdan Fafinski was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Eliseo Noboa showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-0 in the 12 minute of play. A collision led to NapoleonMG getting a freekick after 15 minutes play. Quintín Flores hit a great ball. Benito Sanz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gualterio Cai in the 19th minute of play. Aaron Alcocer hit a great freekick 27 minutes into the match. Benito Sanz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gualterio Cai, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Efrain Moruga during the 33rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Gualterio Cai made a kick off. In the 51st minute, one of Costa Rica:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Costa Rica. Lucio Fagondo placed the ball on the penalty spot and got himself ready to shoot. Post out! Eliseo Noboa recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 55th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After a rather tough play, NapoleonMG's Quintín Flores got a free kick in the 61st minute. Bogdan Fafinski showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Axel Tasis, who was totally free with the ball in the 63rd minute. The supporters of Costa Rica booed when NapoleonMG was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 69 match minutes in a wonderful position. Hector Romildo didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a rather tough play, Costa Rica's Aaron Alcocer got a free kick in the 79th minute. Alan Moruga hit a great freekick 88 minutes into the match. 96 minutes into the game, Alexander Carballo was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Costa Rica's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave NapoleonMG the free kick. The Costa Rica players were eager to celebrate when the final whistle sounded. They had somehow managed to win, even though the away team had held the majority of the possession.
