Match Report

Francisco Urbano
Spectators: 40 (Terracing: 31, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0)
It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Mariano Lacasa kicked off to start the match. 3 minutes into the game, Chile's Mariano Lacasa nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Jack Nicholson made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. Jack Nicholson showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Mariano Lacasa, who was totally free with the ball in the 9th minute. Dep. Morón 1947's Jack Nicholson played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mariano Lacasa in the 11th minute of play. Mateo Flores recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 15th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Chile's Thiago Pliego proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 16th minute of the match, managed to save Chile from getting a goal against them. Mariano Lacasa's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Jack Nicholson read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 18th minute of play. 18 minutes into the match, Mariano Lacasa notched a goal, 1-2, to the right of Dep. Morón 1947's Jack Nicholson. Jack Nicholson was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Jack Nicholson took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Mariano Lacasa, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The supporters of Chile booed when Dep. Morón 1947 was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 29 match minutes in a wonderful position. Joel Laffitte didn't get a good kick on the ball. After having played for 39 minutes, Mateo Flores managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Dep. Morón 1947's supporters crossed their fingers, but Mateo Flores was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Dobromir Makomaski's late challenge caught a Chile's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Dobromir Makomaski helped the player get up and apologised. Dobromir Makomaski kicked well hit freekick during the 43rd minute of the match. Mariano Lacasa took the ball and in the 45 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Jack Nicholson. Jack Nicholson dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-3. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Mateo Flores to strike the kick off in the second half. Mariano Lacasas short, quick shot in the 51stth minute got Jack Nicholson to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Orlando Casaus could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 52nd minute of the match, but Jack Nicholson made a huge save. Mariano Lacasa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 55th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Joel Laffitte kicked well hit freekick during the 56th minute of the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Mariano Lacasa got free with Jack Nicholson in the 59th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Chile's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Mariano Lacasa in the 60th minute. After taking down the ball on Chile's corner Mariano Lacasa fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Jack Nicholson quite easily take care of the ball. If Xavier Figueroa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 60th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 65th minute, Mateo Flores managed to get in a good position for a shot. Dep. Morón 1947's supporters rose to their feet, but Mateo Flores was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Thiago Pliego breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Mariano Lacasa's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Jack Nicholson read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 66th minute of play. After having played for 68 minutes, Mateo Flores managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Dep. Morón 1947's supporters crossed their fingers, but Mateo Flores was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. A collision led to Dep. Morón 1947 getting a freekick after 69 minutes play. Joel Laffitte hit a great ball. 71 minutes into the match, Chile's goal looked a bit too open when Mateo Flores came free, but Thiago Pliego reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Mateo Flores struck a weak shot in the 72nd minute. Thiago Pliego didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Dep. Morón 1947. The supporters of Chile booed when Dep. Morón 1947 was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 74 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rodolfo Ihazintu didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ronny Rudø kicked well hit freekick during the 77th minute of the match. Dep. Morón 1947's Jack Nicholson proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 79th minute of the match, managed to save Dep. Morón 1947 from getting a goal against them. Joel Laffitte made in the 80th minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Chile's Felix Garrido. Joel Laffitte hit a great freekick 82 minutes into the match. After 86 played minutes Dep. Morón 1947 got a freekick which was hit by Ronny Rudø. 87 minutes into the match, Mariano Lacasa had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Jack Nicholson. Dep. Morón 1947's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Mariano Lacasa was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-4. After a rather tough play, Chile's Orlando Casaus got a free kick in the 91st minute. In the 92nd minute Mariano Lacasa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jack Nicholson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Chile played a much better game than Dep. Morón 1947 and deserved their victory. The Dep. Morón 1947 players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
